McCann Manchester has announced that it will be giving four apprentices permanent roles within the agency, two months before the completion of their apprenticeships.

Max Gordon, Jessica Mathers, Amy Mayers, and John Coulson will begin working in their permanent roles with immediate effect. Mayers and Coulson will both work within the team responsible for running the Aldi account, Gordon has joined the agency’s strategic insight team, and Mathers will work within McCann Manchester’s digital design and development team.

The appointments follow the 2011/12 scheme which saw all four apprentices’ secure full time employment at the agency, with the 2012/12 intake in the process of deciding their first career move in marketing and comes as McCann Manchester starts advertising for its third intake of apprentices.

In partnership with the National Apprenticeship Service (NSA) and nearby East Cheshire Business School at Macclesfield College, the scheme offers a 12 month advanced apprenticeship to 16-24 year olds hoping to break into the marketing communications industry.

“To have found permanent roles for four out of six of our current intake two months before the scheme concludes is testimony to the talents and skills of our apprentices and on behalf of the entire management team I’d like to congratulate them on their success,” commented Darren Minshall, McCann Manchester talent and development director.

The appointment announcement comes as pupils across England and Wales open their A-level results and begin to consider work placements and internships to kick-start their careers.
