Manchester United has agreed a three-year-deal to broadcast MUTV in New Zealand.

The club’s dedicated TV channel will be broadcast by Sky, with an estimated audience of almost 1.5m according to the broadcaster.

Richard Arnold, group managing director of Manchester United, said that the club’s popularity had been growing in New Zealand and with almost half of the country’s households subscribing to Sky, it offer those fans more access to the club.

“Through our partnership with Sky they can access MUTV and experience exclusive behind the scenes footage, exclusive interviews as well as live match commentary,” he added.

“This is the latest expansion of our MUTV partnerships and we are delighted that this service is now available to fans across 57 territories worldwide.”

“It’s great that Sky Sport in New Zealand will be screening Manchester United football games. Manchester United is one of the most recognised sports teams in the world and Kiwis love their football,” said Richard Last, director of sport for Sky.
