Kiefer Sutherland stars in Jose Cuervo's eagerly awaited campaign from McCann New York

Jose Cuervo tequila has rolled out its new campaign starring Kiefer Sutherland following a series of online teasers.

The campaign, devised by McCann New York, is centred around a television ad, but also comprises print and digital.

The 60-second spot starts with the ‘24’ star sliding a shot of the tequila down the bar and inviting viewers to ‘Have A Cuervo.’

The ad then follow Sutherland on his own ‘story’, such as playing music on a bus, getting a tattoo, pruning a bonsai and having a second thought about getting into a fight.

Overall, the ‘Have a Story’ campaign aims to send the message that all good stories start, and end, with Jose Cuervo tequila.

The tequila brand is also asking consumers to share their own stories across social media using the hashtag #Cuervostory.

"Cuervo is an iconic brand known for kicking off nights that are talked about for years to come. We are incredibly excited to join the Proximo team in bringing this new chapter of the Cuervo story to life," said Tom Murphy, co-creative director of McCann New York.
