“Didn’t I fire you for serial inaccuracy?”: Newsweek editor Tina Brown hits back at Howard Kurtz criticism in wake of sale
Tina Brown, editor-in-chief of The Daily Beast and Newsweek, responded defensively to criticism from Fox News host and commentator, Howard Kurtz. In a tweet, Kurtz said Brown “tried hard to save Newsweek, which was probably impossible, but this captures the chaos, waste and dysfunction”, linking to a New York Times article discussing the titles and the three loss-making years which preceded them. However, the tweet was swiftly replied to by a less than amused Brown, who reminded their near 200,000 combined followers that Kurtz was recently fired from her digital publications. She accused him of “serial inaccuracy”, referring to his claim that NBA star Jason Collins, the first openly gay male athlete in a major sport, never mentioned that he was once engaged to his girlfriend.
Hey @HowardKurtz am I forgetting something or didn't I fire you for serial inaccuracy? Shurely shome mishtake as British hacks like to say..
