Industry speculates that Twitter job ad signals IPO could be on the horizon
Twitter’s recently posted job ad for a financial reporting manager has caught the attention of the tech and financial industry, as it states the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial statements “when we go public”.
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has repeatedly said he isn't currently planning on taking the $10bn company public and USA Today reports Twitter executives have remained dismissive around questions regarding its IPO.
The description that has spurred speculation nonetheless, reads: “This person will report to the Director of Technical Accounting Manager and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Duties and Responsibilities for preparation of monthly reporting materials, quarterly/annual financial statements and Form S-1 when we are ready to go public," according to a job listing on LinkedIn.”
The posting for the San Francisco-based role appeared on multiple job sites including Linkedin, but all appear to have been taken down and Twitter has not commented thus far.
