Milan-based electricals company Indesit has engaged BOS: Design to create the packaging for its new Hotpoint range of Small Domestic Appliances (SDAs) across food preparation and home products.

BOS: was tasked with developing packaging that underpinned the credibility of the Hotpoint and Ariston brands across Europe, with the design having to work equally as well in Russia, Italy, Turkey and the UK, communicating the features and benefits of the products in a non-lingual way.

“The packaging project for HD Line, our new Small Domestic Appliances Collection, has been a very challenging and highly demanding work. BOS: has proven to be not only an extremely competent partner in the execution but have also supported the whole project implementation with valuable recommendations and advice,” commented Maria Stassi, marketing manager new categories at Indesit.

BOS: creative director, Andy Willingham, added: “Packs within this category can be cluttered with claims and graphic devices, so we adopted a clean graphic approach. The strong use of black sets this range apart from its competitors as confident and refined.

“We created simple feature and benefit icons to assist consumers.”

The new range launches in the UK this month, having already built a presence in Russia, Poland and Italy.
