Photos account for 93% of the most engaging posts on Facebook

Photos are the type of post most likely to lead to engagement on Facebook, research from Socialbakers has found, with 93 per cent of the most engaging posts being photos, compared to only two per cent coming through video posts.

This figure is up from August 2012, when Socialbakers found that 85 per cent of the most engaging posts were pictures.

The research also found that posts which just featured a regular status update counted for three per cent of engagement, while a link accounted for two per cent.

Socialbakers carried out research on 5000 brand pages, looking at what posts users engaged with.
