Baba Shetty named chief strategy and media officer at Digitas following sudden exit from Newsweek last month
Baba Shetty has been named the new chief strategy and media officer at Digitas, just six weeks after he resigned as CEO from Newsweek ahead of its sale.
At the time, Shetty, who had been in the Newsweek job for less than a year, said he was planning to take the summer off "to spend some time with his family."
However, Digitas today announced Shetty would oversee its media, content and social capabilities, including its BrandLIVE platform.
Shetty said he was “thrilled and honoured to be joining Digitas.”

Shetty is now based in Digitas' Boston office and reports directly to Tony Weisman, CEO, DigitasLBi North America.
His appointment comes following several significant wins for Digitas. the agency now handles media buying for The New York Stock Exchange and Lenovo, as well as global media planning and buying for Motorola.
