Gaydar.net expects to see an increase in usage following the Queen giving the royal assent to make gay marriage legal in England and Wales.

Speaking to The Drum, Trevor Martin, CEO at CPC Connect Limited, parent company of Gaydar.net, said: “With equal marriage now officially law it gives gay couples the right to marry and also serves as powerful message of equality that not only strengthens relationships but also encourages gay men and women to celebrate their sexuality and be accepted in the wider community.

“With every advance in equality we see gay men and women feeling happier about their sexuality and are more likely to seek companionship online.”

Martin explained that back in 2005 when The Civil Partnership Act 2004 came into effect in the UK Gaydar.net saw a surge in memberships and that he is “confident that equal marriage will have the same effect”.

Martin added he was already “looking forward to hearing the many success stories of our members finding love on Gaydar.”

Brands have already started celebrating equal marriage rights in the UK, have a look at some of the campaigns.
