Mother London has appointed Sara Tate to the newly created role of managing director with immediate effect, marking a promotion from her current role of head of brand and new business.

Appointment: Sara Tate moves to the role of managing director

Tate joined the agency in 2007 as a strategy director across Mother's portfolio of Coca-Cola brands and brought four years' experience to the agency from her work at Bartle Bogle Hegarty. Prior to BBH, she was a planner at AMV BBDO.

Andy Medd, Mother partner, said: "Sara is a world-class talent who has made a hugely positive contribution in everything she has done at Mother.

"We could not find a better person in the world to be our first managing director and we are delighted in equal measure for both Sara and for Mother."

Tate said she was "flattered" and "thrilled" to be taking up the role.
