X Factor to be ‘around for quite some time’, ITV boss insists, while hinting at future paid-for channels
The X Factor will be on ITV for ‘quite some time’, channel boss Adam Crozier has said, as Simon Cowell looks set to agree a new deal with the channel.
Crozier said: “We’ve got to make sure we improve it and get it right.
"It is perfectly possible to do it. All these shows need a bit of love and attention and for things to change to keep people interested.
“It remains a very important programme for ITV.”
He also told The Mirror that ITV is looking at creating new channels, hinting that some of these might be paid-for: “I think there are other potential ¬channels we could do, both free and pay-for.”
In March, Cowell described the TV show as his ‘baby’, and said he wanted to take a more hands-on approach.
Last year’s series of the X Factor was won by James Arthur, brother of The Drum’s Sian Arthur.
