Adidas celebrates Murray's Wimbledon success with #hitthewinner real-time Twitter competition
Sports brand adidas has launched a real-time game via Twitter offering Andy Murray fans the chance to get involved with his Wimbledon campaign and win signed Murray merchandise.
Created by global creative innovation network iris, #hitthewinner invites Twitter users to predict where Murray will hit on his opponents side of the court to win a shot.
For the game adidas has divided the opponents side of the court into nine equal squares, before each set fans are invited to tweet which square they think the winning shot will hit by tweeting #hitthewinner [target square number].
Individual competitions will be run for each set within Andy Murray’s Wimbledon matches with the first competition commencing two hours before the match is due to begin and closing as soon as the first set starts, the next competition will open as soon as the first set starts and close at the end of the first set, with the pattern continuing until the match concludes.
Prizes will be allocated when Murray hits a winning shot into the opponents half, with the final winning shot of the set eligible for the signed merchandise.
Last night saw the game go live for the first time, with #hitthewinner due to return on Wednesday for Murray's next match.
