EE’s Andy Pearcey appointed by Cheil UK to lead brand partnerships and activation across its client portfolio

Pearcey joins Cheil UK from EE

EE’s head of sponsorship and partnerships, Andy Pearcey, has joined Cheil UK to lead brand partnerships and activation across its client portfolio.

At EE, Pearcey was responsible for leading the partnership, entertainment and experiential strategy, and activation for EE, Orange and T-Mobile within the UK. This included Orange Wednesdays, Orange British Academy Film Awards, Glastonbury Music Festival and Orange Prize for Fiction among others.

At Cheil UK Pearcey will report to managing director Matt Pye. He brings 15 years’ of client and agency side experience to the role and prior to joining EE was at Anheuser Busch as marketing controller for Budweiser. His agency experience includes working with brands such as Coca-Cola, the Premier League and Formula 1.

“Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience from EE and elsewhere, and his thinking chimes with Cheil’s philosophy of using cutting edge technology and innovation to drive brand messages in ways that people find relevant and useful. He understands the requirements for big name brands to constantly update themselves and will add value here at Cheil from the get-go,” said Pye.

Pearcey said that he was “looking forward to” developing the agency’s “unavoidably integrated thinking”.

Pearcey is joined by Tom Bulwer, the former head of mobile at Ministry of Sound, who joins Cheil UK as senior executive, mobile and entertainment partnerships, reporting to Kim de Ruiter, Cheil UK’s head of mobile and entertainment partnerships.
