"I could have done a better job' Sean 'Diddy' Combs has admitted of his own personal brand building, referring to his controversial lifestyle in the 90's before becoming a media entrepreneur.

Combs, who was speaking at a press briefing following his interview about his views on creativity within marketing and media at the Cannes Festival of Creativity, admitted that he had neglected his own brand but said that it was something he planned to change in the coming years.

"My own personal brand is constantly evolving," he stated. "I could do a better job in terms of managing and sharing with people how my brand has evolved. The polarising aspect of the way I was, what I used to do in the late Nineties, people actually think that I'm that same person. As a person you evolve. I'm a really introverted person in an extroverted body, so it's hard for me to share. I don't do a lot of public speaking and sharing my thoughts, but that's something that I feel is important for me to develop.

"Over the next couple of years you'll be able to see more if an evolution of Sean. We've heard about all the different names and we've had fun with that, been there, done that, but the reality is I have six beautiful kids, 10 successful companies and I have a lot of responsibilities to share information and to make sure that people know that I've grown and evolved. I've learned from my successes and so I could do a better job with my own brand. I don't make that as much of a priority as I should, because I have more fun building other brands, but there is a plan for me and I need to make sure I pay more attention to that."

Combs was attending Cannes to talk about his music television channel Revolt which launched last year, since breaking onto the scene in the early 90s Combs has gone under several names including Puff Daddy, P. Diddy and Diddy.
