In the build-up to this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which kicks off on Sunday 16 June, The Drum has asked a number of senior creatives to root through the great creative work they have seen produced this year and choose five they believe could and should win big this year. Today's selection come courtesy of BETC London's executive creative director Neil Dawson.

Channel 4 - Superhumans

Channel 4 Paralympics - Meet the Superhumans from IWRF on Vimeo.

Simply, this film made the ordinary Olympics look like the warm up act.

Metro - Dumb Ways to Die

This ad shows that public service messages can be approached in an upbeat way to make a serious point. People are more likely to share a positive message, 43 million views on youtube would back that up..

Cow&Gate - 'Supergroup'

To create award winning work with clients where the brand doesn't have a rich creative history is the hardest and therefore for me the Holy Grail. Clients like this should be recognised for their courage.

Paddy Power - Ryder Cup Skywritings

There are occasions when a stunt is so timely and so well done that it captures perfectly the spirit of an event. The words Do it for Steve appearing in the heavens the day the European team snatched an almost impossible victory was one of those.

Volkswagen - Father Daughter

Every scene is insightful for any Dad. My favourite is the daughter wearing an oversized jumper on a walk as Dad quietly freezes. The final shot of him chokes me upevery time. It's a really difficult shot to pull off but it is done with aplomb.
