HMV media planning and buying account goes to the7stars

HMV’s media planning and buying account has been handed to the7stars, which will see it support the retailer with in-store and online activity.

The appointment, which follows the company’s emergence from administration when it was bought out by Hilco, sees the7stars take over the account for OMD without a pitch.

Liam Mullins, head of trading for the7stars, commented: "This is a hugely significant win for the7stars. There is a lot of positive sentiment both in the business community and entertainment community for HMV. The HMV brand is an enduring one with the British public, and it’s clear that a lot of thought and a clear vision is being put in place behind the scenes to make the brand more relevant to consumers in 2013 and beyond.”

The retailer now has over 140 outlets across the UK.
