The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) has appointed retail branding and design consultancy M Worldwide to review the multi-channel retail customer journey for its London and Whipsnade Zoos.

Appointed following a three way credentials pitch, M Worldwide will look to make sure that ZSL offers engaging retail spaces, an innovative and unique product offer and offering strong value for money.

David Martin, co-managing partner at M Worldwide, said: “This programme of work goes way beyond design – it’s a multi-channel consultation of the retail customer journey that will enhance visitors’ experiences at these amazing attractions and increase profits for ZSL so it can continue with its very important conservation work around the world.”

Julian Green, ZSL’s head of retail and admissions, said: “We’re confident that M Worldwide will enhance the retail experience so that it’s inspiring and exciting, reflective of both zoo brands, and part of a fun day out. The agency’s experience working with various UK visitor attractions played a role in the appointment, but it’s their wider expertise in retail and understanding customers’ needs that will really add value to this programme.”

M Worldwide will review the current retail estate at both zoos, retail pricing strategy, retail promotion and products.
