Nick Milligan, managing director of Sky Media, has been named as one of the fatalities in a speed boat accident which took place in Padstow.

Police named Milligan as one of two killed in the accident, alongside his eight-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, a 39-year-old woman, a four-year-old boy and two girls aged 10 and 12 also on board are reportedly currently being treated in hospital.

Amateur video footage of the incident has appeared online showing a passerby jumping onto the out-of-control speedboat from another vessel to switch the engine off as it headed towards the Camel Estuary.

A spokesperson for Sky commented: "Everyone at Sky is deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic accident involving the Milligan family. Nick has been a great friend and colleague for many years and his loss will be felt across our company and the industry. Our very deepest sympathies are with his family at this time."

Milligan had been managing director of Sky Media, the advertising sales division of Sky, since 2004 and also served as a director of Channel 5 Television Group and Thinkbox.
