The Drum has been recognised among the cream of the magazine industry after being shortlisted in seven categories at the prestigious Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Awards.

Both The Drum's fortnightly print edition and its fast-growing website impressed the judges to earn nominations in the business magazine of the year category and digital innovation of the year category for thedrum.com.

There is individual recognition for editor Gordon Young, who has been nominated for business media editor of the year, and columnist Andrew Boulton who will compete for business media columnist of the year for his Writer, Reader, Rascal blog.

The Drum's own Dadi Awards will duke it out for event of the year and there are further nominations in the business media brand of the year and publishing innovator of the year categories.

"This is a fantastic endorsement of the efforts of The Drum team over the last 12 months," said Gordon Young.

"We're committed to print, we continue to grow online and I'm delighted that our magazine, website and events operation caught the eye of the judges."

The Drum will join some of the biggest names in the industry – including Radio Times, Wired and Stylist Magazine – at the awards on 19 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
