The Sunday Post named as Newspaper of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards 2013

The Scottish Press Awards have named the Sunday Post as its Newspaper of the Year, while Gina Davidson, associate editor of The Edinburgh Evening News, was named Journalist of the Year.

Davidson also won ‘Scoop of the Year’ for her coverage of the Mortonhall Crematorium story, while the same story also saw The Edinburgh Evening Times team named as Journalist Team of the Year.

Young Journalist of the Year was received by Niamh Anderson from The Scottish Sun while Diageo Columnist for the Year was awarded to Bill Leckie of The Scottish Sun.

The Weekly Newspaper title was taken by the Falkirk Herald and a Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Campbell Gunn at the Sunday Post.
