Knorr has turned to R Design to create the identity and packaging for its chilled wet sauces launch in the Nordics.

R Design was tasked with announcing the brand’s presence in the fresh chilled cabinet by using its culinary credentials supported by taste and natural cues.

Of the project, Dave Richmond, creative director and founder of R Design, said: “We wanted to make a bold statement announcing Knorr’s entry into the fresh arena and created a prominent sauce-boat icon as the vehicle to communicate the freshness of the product as well as the different sauce variants. We believe in keeping design messaging simple. Tell the consumer what they need to know with the least amount of fuss, but do it in a way that is clearly from the brand so there is no confusion over identity.”

The three products in the range include Brown Sauce (traditional Scandinavian gravy), Steak Sauce and Béarnaise Sauce.

Nordic brand manager for Knorr, Daniel Morales, added: “The feedback from both consumers and trade customers has been very positive about the new face of Knorr in fresh. I think our brief to R Design was true to Knorr but dramatically different, and they nailed it beautifully.”
