Sky Ireland has launched what it calls its ‘biggest ever’ marketing campaign to launch its new broadband service, recruiting former Bond Pierce Brosnan to sell its new broadband service.

Straddling TV, press, outdoor and digital the promotion carries the tagline ‘Sky broadband has arrived’ promoting the fact that Sky TV subscribers can now bundle unlimited broadband with their package.

It shows Ireland’s prodigal son returning to the Emerald Isle to an apparently rapturous reception from the public, in fact they are simply delighted by the arrival of Sky broadband.

Michael Markey, Head of Brand Marketing for Sky Ireland said: “Our research showed that people in Ireland are excited about the prospect of getting their TV, calls and broadband all from Sky in one bundle. The creative idea dramatises this by showing that the broadband launch is seen as being even more exciting than the return of one of Ireland’s most famous stars.”

Matt Edwards, Chief Executive at WCRS said: “We’re delighted to extend our relationship with Sky to develop this campaign for Ireland. It was a privilege to work with Pierce Brosnan on this campaign, he is one of the world’s most iconic stars and gives the Sky Broadband advertising the scale and stature it deserves”.
