An actress has been told to act her age by a jury following a failed bid to sue IMDB for printing her date of birth in their profile of her.

Huong Hoang, who goes by the stage name Junie Hoang, regularly lied about her age to talent scouts in order to boost her acting career but these lies came unstuck when the Internet Movie Database published her true date of birth in their profile of her.

Seeking to prise some cash from the website Hoang took them to court, ostensibly with the claim that offers of work dried up following the publication.

A jury rejected this claim however, siding instead with IMDb who asserted that it was their right to publish accurate data and Hoang could not prove her employment had been directly affected by it.

Initially Hoang had told the site that she was born in 1978 but subsequent investigations by the Amazon owned site found that her actual date of birth was 16 July 1971.

Hoang’s career has been limited to roles in little known B movies such as Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver.
