Scottish Design Award Nominations for 2013 unveiled

The Scottish Design Award nominations for 2013 have been announced, aiming to once again celebrate the best creative work from the design and architecture sector in Scotland.

The line-up for the design categories includes nominations for Tangent Graphic and Lewis Creative in the Corporate Identity category, while the Craft category sees nominations for Freight Design, Whitespace, KVGD, Designers On The Run and Tayburn.

Packaging offers three nominations this year, with Stand, Threebrand and PocketRocket Creative vying for a prize, and Freight and Contagious will battle it out for an award within the Publications category.

The winners will be announced on 30 May at Raddison Blu hotel in Glasgow. For further information see the Scottish Design Awards website. Meanwhile, tickets for the event can be purchased online.

This year's awards will be sponsored by BRE, Elmwood and Urban Realm.

Dave Palmer, chairman of the design judging panel and creative director of Love, offered his thoughts on the work of the whisky sector while in Glasgow to judge this year's entries, describing the sector as "quite conservative".
