Showcase Cinemas appoints Julian Carr as chief executive, UK theatre operations

Showcase Cinemas has named Julian Carr as chief executive, UK theatre operations starting with immediate effect, to develop the brand on national level.

Carr has been tasked with strengthening and developing the Showcase business, working alongside the in-cinema teams to grow the business from the ground up.

Prior to joining Showcase Carr worked within the aviation and leisure sector holding senior management roles with the likes of Blockbuster, Virgin Cinemas, Jet2 and MyTravelLite. Carr was formerly the head of marketing and new business development at IATA (International Air Transport Association) in Montreal, Canada, before his tenure as managing director at bmibaby.

Carr has joined the chain tasked with developing the company's brand and business nationwide.
