Emirates takes on year-long sponsorship of Tyne and Wear Metro

Dubai airline Emirates has picked up a year-long sponsorship of the Tyne and Wear Metro which will see it display images of travel across four Metrocars to Newcastle passengers.

The deal will see the launch of an advertising campaign featuring the brand’s ‘Hello Tomorrow’ imagery on the façade of two carriages, running across 56 metres, with the aim of showcasing the destinations offered by Emirates from Newcastle International Airport.

Laurie Berryman, vice president of Emirates UK, said that the sponsorship demonstrated the company’s continued investment in the North East of England.

Emirates has run the service from Newcastle to Dubai for over five years.
