News International appoints Metro's director of Olympics David Vokes as head of creative solutions

David Vokes, former head of sport sponsorship at Mirror Group, has joined News International Commercial as its head of creative solutions.

Vokes, who was previously director of Olympics at Metro Newspaper, will report to Corinne Wilkins, partnerships director, while working closely with the editorial team across the titles and platforms. He will also be tasked with the development and delivery of multiplatform ideas for partner agencies and clients to generate additional revenue and advertising.

Wilkins said: “David’s extensive experience working with major consumer brands across national press titles is a great asset to News International Commercial. His knowledge and understanding will be valuable to the team as he helps coach, mentor and develop their talent within the Creative Solutions department. I’m very much looking forward to working with David to build a leadership position for the company, enabling us to be at the forefront of new trends and practices in the media industry.”

Voke has also held roles within Telegraph Media Group including sport sponsorship manager.
