Costcutter has announced that it is to launch a new three tier own label range, with the tiers to be called Independent; Independent Trader; and Independent Specialist.

It has been suggested by The Grocer that the ‘trader’ tier will be entry-level, while the ‘specialist’ level will be premium.

The launch date for the product range, which comes following the announcement earlier this month that Costcutter is teaming with Palmer & Harvey for a new joint venture company called The Buyco.

The move will also see Palmer & Harvey’s The Mace, Supershop and Your Store brands, operations and 800 stores join the Costcutter Supermarket Group family of brands from 7 April.

Costcutter’s ‘extensive chilled and fresh proposition’ comes following feedback from members, and will be supported by marketing investment as the brand looks to become market leading.
