The Woodland Trust has unveiled a media buying campaign in order to say thank you to the volunteers who helped plant six million trees to help celebrate the Queen's 2012 Diamond Jubilee.

The campaign, handled by Total Media, kicked off this week with the messages being displayed on large-scale and digital posters at some of London’s key transport hubs, including Victoria, Charing Cross and Euston; as well as in national newspapers and magazines.

Ash Kirkpatrick, head of communications at The Woodland Trust, said of the campaign: “This is a campaign to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped us to plant an amazing six million trees for the Diamond Jubilee – we couldn’t have done it without all our volunteers’ hard work. But our work doesn’t stop here – there’s much more still to do.

“Planting trees is incredibly important because there is such a large host of threats to our native woods. Making sure that we not only protect our ancient woodland but that we also try to double new woodland cover means that we will be able to create truly resilient landscapes for future generations.”

The launch of the campaign marks the end of the project.
