Efforts to find missing Inverness journalist Clive Dennier are continuing after the keen hillwalker failed to turn up at work in the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald on Monday.

Missing: Mr Dennier did not arrive for work on Monday morning

The 50-year-old is understood to have spoken about going hillwalking at the weekend but has not been seen since and there has been no trace of his car, a silver Volkswagen Polo with registration number SX54 CXD, which is said to be distinctive because of missing hubcaps.

Northern Constabulary appealed for any information over Mr Dennier's whereabouts, and a spokesman said: "Police are continuing inquiries into his disappearance and have spoken to friends and colleagues in relation to places Clive may have gone, given he is a keen and experienced walker.

"Searches have been carried out at car parks in areas he has been known to walk in previously, but at this time there have been no sighting of the vehicle."

Friends and colleagues of Mr Dennier appealed for social media users to spread the word around Twitter and Facebook in a bid to trace him.
