Beer innovators BrewDog have announced plans to launch its first Twitter beer in a bid to slake the thirst of tweeters.

The ‘first democratically designed beer’ will hand key decisions to social media users, encouraging participation in a vote on various elements of the brew via Twitter, Facebook and the BrewDog blog.

Dubbed the #Mashtag brew this will see a series of posers posted each day this week asking beer drinkers to vote on specific elements of the brew and encompass everything from the beer style, malt bill & ABV, to Hops & IBU, special twist and even the name.

BrewDog co-founder and head brewer Martin Dickie commented: “We have always been inspired by the passion, knowledge and enthusiasm of craft beer drinkers. We have decided that democratic beer is the future and we are giving up the important brewing decisions to our fans, customers and any who wants to learn more about the craft beer process and cast their vote.”
