Sleep aid Nytol is set to resurrect its claymation Aardman Animation TV advert after a £3m marketing investment enabled the brand to take on the services of Grey London, GolinHarris and Zenith.

Return: It's been three years since viewers last saw housewife Joan

The advert will feature the established exhausted housewife character, Joan, and carry the familiar 'Good Mornings Follow a Good Nytol' tagline. The new campaign will introduce Nytol's new anti-snoring throat spray, rescuing Joan from an interrupted night's sleep because of her husband's snoring.

Executive producer of Aardman Animations, Heather Wright, commented: "Joan is a character who really resonates with the audience, facing many of the challenges of modern life, including lack of sleep. It's great to see her back on TV again after a three year absence, and this time Nytol has managed to put a stop to her snoring husband too."

The £3m investment from Omega Pharma has funded an advertising campaign which will stretch across popular prime time slots on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. The brand's website will receive a makeover alongside a high profile PR campaign, POS material and pharmacy training materials.

A spokesperson for Nytol added: "Nytol has long been the nation's number one trusted brand for a quality night's sleep and we are delighted to be supporting it with such a high profile marketing investment."
