Claymation specialists Aardman Animation have dipped their toes in the commercial advertising sector with the premier of their first TV advert, for ride-on suitcase manufacturer Trunki.

Promoting its new PaddlePak range the travel specialist is targeting its marketing push at children, tying in the illustration style of the TV spots for its wider promotional work.

Trunki managing director Rob Law said: "Working with Aardman Animations has been every bit as enjoyable as you'd expect. Taking the plunge into children's TV is always daunting, but when you're working with some of the UK's most talented animators, it definitely helps to put you at ease.

"We wanted to create something that would stand out to adults, whilst still appeal to our younger viewers, and drawing them into our underwater world."

Trunki has a strong affinity with the south west of England having recently relocated its manufacturing division back to the region from China.
