Tony Weisman, who's been at Digitas for six years overseeing the north and west regions of the US, is replacing Colin Kinsella as North American CEO of Digitas.

Tony Weisman: "At the forefront."

The move by Publicis Groupe follows the merger of Publicis agency LBi with Digitas last month.

A Digitas spokeswoman said: "Colin is exploring other options within the Groupe. The decision for him to step down as CEO was a mutual agreement."

Maurice Levy, CEO of Publicis Groupe, said "We are taking significant leaps forward to fully realise the potential of the 'most complete' digital agency network in the world.

"Leaders like Tony will be at the forefront of an exceptional start of this journey.

"I am grateful to Colin for the great job he did as CEO of Digitas North America, and wish him the best of luck."

Weisman previously oversaw the offices in Chicago, Boston, Detroit and San Francisco - which opened in May last year with seven employees and has since grown to more than 70.

The merger has so far seen its "share of bumps in the road", said AdAge.

Due to conflict issues, the North American operations of Digitas were not merged with LBi's North American operations.

However, Weisman will report to Luke Taylor, head of LBi, global CEO of the merged company.
