Kayak appoints European media director to drive international footprint

Travel comparison site Kayak has appointed former media director for Sony Dominic Fawcett to the newly created role of European media director as it continues its strategy to develop its European business.

Fawcett, who was previously media director for Sony Europe, will be responsible for managing future media plans and campaigns across Europe, working closely with its media planning and buying agency ZenithOptimedia.

Prior to his time at Sony Europe Fawcett was worldwide strategy director for PHD Network, and was managing partner of Mindshare Worldwide for over seven years before that.

Stephanie Retcho, senior vice president of marketing, Kayak Europe said: “Dominic’s pan-European experience will be a great asset, especially as we focus efforts on developing our business across Europe.”

Fawcett’s hire follows the recent appointment of ZenithOptimedia, which has been assigned to manage Kayak’s traditional media planning across Europe.
