Walkers has unveiled its latest campaign and TV ad starring brand ambassador Gary Lineker introducing home grown ingredients to its core range of crisps.

Created by AMV BBDO, the new ad shows Lineker travelling the length and breadth of Britain in his tractor to unearth the best home grown ingredients for his favourite Walkers crisps. His quest sees him collecting cheese in Somerset, chasing chickens in Devon and tracking down tomatoes in the Vale of Evesham.

The TV creative will be supported by online and mobile display ads with a major social media campaign complete with footage from Gary journeying across the UK to visit Walkers farms and taste test the home grown ingredients. Lineker’s father Barry stars in the campaign bringing his retailers perspective having run Lineker’s fruit and veg stall in Leicester Market for over 40 years.

Planning and buying was handled by OMD, with the ad set to launch over the weekend with 60 and 30 second ad slots booked during the likes of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and the Dancing on Ice live final on Sunday.
