The finalists have now been announced for the inaugural Drum Design Awards, which celebrate the best work produced by the UK design industry.

The Partners, Elmwood and Love are among the consultancies which feature on a strong shortlist showcasing some of the finest design talent working in this country today.

The awards, sponsored by Streamtime, have been judged by a panel of highly-respected industry figures including former Design Week editor Lynda Relph-Knight, Pentagram owner Domenic Lippa and Attik co-founder James Somerville.

Jury chairman Malcolm Garrett, creative director of IMAGES&Co, described the judging process as "thorough" and said only the strongest work had been shortlisted for awards.

"It is no reflection on overall quality that some categories show fewer shortlists or winners," Garrett said. "This is a natural aspect of all awards schemes, and next year different categories may suffer. It is to the judges' credit that they only recognise work of the highest quality and don't recommend winners just for the sake of appearances.

"That said the categories which were strong, such as the digital categories, had a truly rich selection from which to shortlist, and the judges engaged in much animated debate about relative merits of projects before settling on winners."

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday 25 April. To book a table, or for more information, visit The Drum Design Awards website.
