The Body Shop has announced that Leona Lewis, of X-Factor fame, has become its new brand ambassador which has been cemented by the launch of her new make-up and fragrance collection for the company.

The cruelty-free collection will be available in stores from 26 March and was created in collaboration with Lewis.

As brand ambassador, Lewis will also be helping to promote The Body Shop’s support of Cruelty Free International, a non-profit organisation calling for a global ban on animal testing for cosmetic purposes. From May, The Body Shop will be asking its customers to sign a pledge in support of the charity.

Commenting on her appointment as brand activist, Lewis said: I’m so excited to present my first ever make up collection, designed to celebrate cruelty-free beauty at The Body Shop.”
