Thomas Cook has today announced the launch of a digital advisory board (DAB), with the aim to develop the strategy and capability of the travel group.

The twelve members of the DAB have been chosen to bring a combination of experience in digital marketing, online retail, search engine optimisation, mobile solutions, interactive communities, and social media.

Medias of the group include Tom Wood, partner at Foolproof, and Simon Darling, CEO at Jack & Anna Group.

Harriet Green, Group CEO and co-chair of the DAB, said: “A vital element in our transformation is the development and implementation of our digital strategy. We have already made progress in embedding our “high tech, high touch” ethos in the Group with the establishment of our E-ccommerce Centre of Excellence (ECE), creating a hub of talented individuals to provide strong functional expertise and support for the Group across the overall online customer experience.

“John Straw has a proven and extensive reputation of success in the web world; he joins us to inject even more energy to the ECE. Supported by a strong team, the combined, collective strengths of ECE leaders will stimulate the fresh thinking and innovation so essential for success in the digital arena.

“The DAB will make a significant contribution to the success of Thomas Cook. It, in addition to the Group’s executive team, includes an exceptional array of independent experts whose input will be invaluable to our activities. I am delighted that Simon, Tom, Laurence and Marco have agreed to join us in this exciting and important initiative and look forward to working with them.”
