Save the Rhino International has announced that it has reappointed creative agency 23red to work on a pro bono basis for two years.

The agency will be involved in all aspects of strategy, fundraising, partnerships and communications; being with a digital campaign in summer.

Cathy Dean, director at Save the Rhino, said: “We’ve known the founders of 23red for many years and worked with them in 2002-2008. Philippa Dunning, their creative services director has stayed in touch ever since and so we’re delighted to be getting back together when we need their help more than ever. Like many small charities we have little money so we’re grateful to 23red for supporting us on a pro bono basis and we’re looking forward to seeing how their strategic thinking, creativity and can do attitude will benefit our charity.”

Sean Kinmont, managing partner and creative director at 23red, added: “We really loved working for Save the Rhino before and the presence of Herbert [pictured] in our reception has been a daily reminder. More seriously, there are three South Africans in our team and we share a deep-seated passion to do something for this cause, so when we reviewed our agency’s charity strategy recently Save the Rhino came top of our list.”

Herbert was made of flip-flops that had been washed up on an island, and interfered with turtles laying eggs. Volunteers collected the flip-flops and created Herbert, who 23red won in an auction with the proceeds going to Save the Rhino.
