Channel 4's airtime sales team will use a new online learning system for future training sessions having extended its learning Academy.

The site will be used as a training resource to help the team improve their product knowledge in order to gain the best value for airtime clients.

Competitor analysis, alongside insight into Channel 4's brand and services will also be contained within the portal, which was designed and developed by next generation learning company, Brightwave, and will be managed by Channel 4 senior sales executive Amiel Walia.

Jonathan Allan, director of sales at Channel 4 said: “Investing in our talent is essential to our success as a sales house. Through the addition of this new digital learning tool to our Academy, we want to help people grow in knowledge and confidence – and encourage greater collaboration through knowledge sharing and ultimately build a confident, multi-skilled sales force. It’s important our staff feel that their talent is realised at Channel 4 and for them to become Channel 4 ambassadors who grow within the sales team. Ultimately, growing knowledgeable people helps us to grow revenue.”

Launched last year, the Academy serves as a training programme for new recruits to the sales team in understanding key skills such as calculating TVRs, commodity management while also developing agency and sale relationships.
