Agency growth and pitching top agenda at MiNetwork's North West event

February 22, 2013 | 4 min read

How marketing services agencies are planning to achieve growth during 2013 is going to be at the top of the agenda at MiNetwork’s North West chapter meeting in March as specialist creative industries accountancy firm The Wow Company will be presenting the findings and insights from its recent Creative Industry Study to MiNetwork members.

Peter Czapp of The Wow Company

Peter Czapp of The Wow Company will be outlining the key findings from the benchmarking study, which saw some 300 marketing services agencies questioned about how much they expect to grow, how they expect to achieve that growth and in what areas/sectors do they expect growth. Czapp will also be promoting a debate among attendees and getting them to consider avenues of growth that perhaps they previously hadn’t considered.

Also, speaking at the North West Chapter meeting, which is being held at the offices of North West member BJL on Tues 19th March at 5.30pm, is theatre actress Tessa Morton. Tessa now works with businesses, many in the creative and marketing sectors such as JWT and Ogilvy, on how they can present and pitch for new business more effectively.

Tessa’s session will focus on techniques that are used in the theatre that can be adopted both before and during pitches, which will ensure that you make a dramatic impression on the people you are speaking to. She will go through some exercises that you can do to ensure that you are making an emotional connection to your audience and also include techniques to make sure that you have your audiences full attention throughout your presentation or pitch.

Richard Draycott, managing director of MiNetwork, said: “Agency growth in the year ahead is on everybody’s mind as we approach the end of another financial year, and Peter’s presentation I’m sure will give some interesting insights into the growth other agencies are planning and how that intend to manage it. It will be interesting for our members to benchmark themselves against others to see if they are being ambitious enough or overly optimistic about what they next year may bring.

“I have seen Tessa speak before and to say she had made an impression would be an understatement. She’s full of energy, ideas and techniques that are guaranteed to make you stand out from the crowd when pitching for new business or even presenting to a larger audience at a seminar or conference. She is about a lot more than making better Powerpoint sides, in fact she even suggests getting rid of your Powerpoint presentation altogether and letting the audience focus their attention on you the speaker.”
