Yahoo! redesigns website to make it more Facebook friendly

Yahoo! has revamped its website to bring in features familiar to Facebook users.

Visitors to the site will now find a newsfeed and people’s “likes”. They have also been able to log in with their Facebook IDs to gain access to content and information shared by friends - from articles and videos to birthdays.

It is the biggest product relaunch to come from CEO Marissa Mayer's since she took the helm of the company last year.

The changes to, which also include a more streamlined mobile application for smartphones and tablets, will be rolled out over coming days.

Speaking on the NBC Today Show, Mayer said of the revamp: "We wanted it to be familiar but also wanted it to embrace some of the modern paradigms of the Web. "

"One thing that I really like is this very personalized newsfeed; it's infinite and you can go on scrolling forever," she said.
