Digital media platform company, PubMatic, has announced the appointment of Rob Jonas as its new vice president and managing director for the Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific markets.
Jonas, who joins PubMatic in mid-March, will report directly to the company president, Kirk McDonald.
Jonas’s primary responsibility will be to lead international sales and help drive continued global expansion of the company’s Strategic Selling Platform, which enables programmatic ad sales, across the EMEA and APAC markets.
Jonas’s experience includes three years as vice president and managing director of EMEA at InMobi. Prior to that Jonas was director of strategic partnerships in EMEA for Google’s London office. At Google, he managed regional customer relationships with companies such as AOL and eBay.
President of PubMatic, Kirk McDonald, said of the appointment: “As programmatic buying grows and PubMatic continues to expand, having an international managing director with Rob’s level of experience at selling ad platforms for media and technology companies is an undeniable asset.
“In a short time, he has contributed to the material success and international expansion of some of the most successful interactive companies. He understands and consistently builds upon a culture of innovation at every turn, from start-ups like InMobi to large corporations like Google.”
Jonas also said: “Coming from a mobile-focused company, I have seen two undeniable trends over the last three years. First, the rise of mobile computing and the eventual convergence across mobile, tablet and PC platforms in the minds of consumers, publishers and advertisers.
“Second is the increasing importance of unified, cross-platform solutions to address monetisation, increasingly through the inclusion of programmatic and real-time bidding. PubMatic is one of the very few companies at the nexus of these trends and fantastically well positioned to capitalise.”
