Marc Jacobs, who was announced as the creative director for the Diet Coke brand for 2013, has unveiled his first can designs, which will be unveiled nationally on 25 February.

When appointed to design the limited edition range, Jacobs said: “I feel very privileged to be the new creative director of Diet Coke and put my stamp on the 30th Anniversary campaign. Diet Coke is an icon… and I love an icon.”

The ‘I Heart ‘80s’ aims to embody the rise of the empowered woman in all her 1980s glory, while the ‘I Heart ‘90s’ creative aims to show off 'the extravagant attitude of the era where fashion, music and art collided', and the 'I Heart ‘00s’ design aims to promote humour, sexiness and energy, and is directly inspired by the Marc Jacobs Spring / Summer 2013 runway show.

The cans will also offer the chance to win a limited edition Marc Jacobs tote.

Last year, Jean Paul Gualtier was the creative director, and created limited edition cans and bottles featuring his famous stripes and lace corset designs.
