DSTV, the parent company of South African TV channel M-NET, has announced that it has pulled a campaign featuring its brand ambassador Oscar Pistorius.

The theme of the campaign, promoting the M-NET Movies channel, was a "life-size Oscar" in the form of the multi-medal winning athlete. The campaign was due to launch in the next few days as the countdown to the Oscars begins, however DSTV said this morning that it will not go ahead.

M-NET's website also featured images from the campaign and a tag-line which read: "Look out for more info on all the exciting stuff Oscar is going to be doing for Oscars month, coming in the next few days."

This appears to have now been removed.

It was revealed this morning that Nike had been forced to pull its ‘I am the bullet’ ad starring Oscar Pistorius, following the Paralympian’s arrest during an investigation into his girlfriend’s death at his home.
