Belgium Yellow Pages, goldenpages.be, has launched Shazam-enabled radio ads in Europe as part of a Valentine-themed campaign.

Media agency Happiness and media engagement company Shazam have come together to tun the 30 second radio spots which are to be aired across five Belgium radio stations to promote the unique use of goldenpages.be ‘À Table’ Valentine’s version app.

Users can download the app directly to their smartphones by activating their Shazam app while the radio advert is on air.

‘À Table’ (colloquial French for “dinner is served”) enables users to search for restaurants by cuisine and budget as well as make reservations 24/7 and publish reviews. Initially launched in December 2012m the Valentine extension allows users to simultaneously book a taxi to and from the restaurant.

Happiness CEO, Karen Corrigan, commented: “We wanted to further enhance goldenpages.be’s positioning as a modern, digital and essential service for people needing instant information in their everyday lives. Shazam presented us with the perfect opportunity to add value to our customers and also claim an edge by being the first in Europe to adopt Shazam for interactive radio advertising.

“The clever thing about this application is that it is extending the power of Shazam beyond its incredible ability to recognise any music.”

The Shazam-enabled radio ads will be supported by print adverts in lifestyle magazines and posters pasted in both men’s and ladies’ bathrooms in bars and restaurants across Belgium.
