Sky is introducing free, second-screen voting for live entertainment show Got To Dance.

The pay TV operator is using Monterosa Productions’ LViS Studio platform to create second-screen apps for the show, incorporating free voting for the finals which air between 10 February and 17 March.

Previously viewers had to pay to vote during Got To Dance via methods including Facebook’s virtual currency Credits.

However, it has now dropped this method in favour of the free voting made available via the LViS platform, which is designed to provide secure, compliant and real-time voting at scale.

Tom McDonnell, Monterosa’s commercial director said: "We've made high volume, secure voting an integral part of LViS because we know that audiences don't want to pay to vote, and for broadcasters the opportunities for cross-promotion and continued engagement are more exciting than SMS and telephony revenues.

"Sky is the first UK broadcaster to recognise this, and as an LViS customer they get easy-to-use, secure voting from within LViS Studio."

The show, presented by Davina McCall, is in its fourth series.
