Mark Tapling appointed CEO of PacketVideo

Mark Tapling has been named the new chief executive and president of software company, PacketVideo.

Founder and former CEO, Jim Brailean PhD, is set to leave the company but will act as an informal advisor during the transition. Among Tapling's achievements is an Ernst and Young entrepreneur of the year award and being named on the top 100 people to watch in knowledge management list. Educated in Michigan State University, Tapling holds experience in both public and private sector environments and recently served as chief executive of SDL plc Language Technologies.

PacketVideo is a subsidiary company of NTT DOCOMO INC, and is known for its Twonky product, a technology ecosystem that enables the sharing of virtually any type of media content across the connected home.
