The Cavendish London hotel has today launched a Valentine’s Day competition using new social media tool Vine.

The #ValentineVine competition will see a couple win a romantic break for two at the hotel.

Entrants are asked to create an upload a Vine video, with the video ruled the most romantic to be the winner of the competition.

Neil Braude, general manager of the Cavendish London, told The Drum: "The Cavendish London started its social media journey in 2009 with Facebook and Twitter. Since then we have organically grown Facebook to nearly 5k Fans, Twitter to 3.5k followers and we continuing to grow through blogging, TripAdvisor, Pinterest, Storify, Google+, Instagram and now Vine.

These channels have been very successful for us and continue to reinforce our customer service beyond the walls of our hotel. We are responding to how people are communicating and use the channels as tools to enhance customer experience such as giving directions through Twitter to guests on the move and drawing and measured cupboards for foreign guests through Facebook.

We wanted to be an early adopter with Vine and for our social media supporters to have some fun with an app that is free, easy to use and creative. It will be interesting to see how many entries we receive and we are really looking forward to viewing what entrants can create in just six seconds."
